The Torino Film Festival (TFF) is dedicating a special evening to celebrate two icons of Italian cinema, Ornella Muti and Michele Placido, while supporting a vital cause. The entire proceeds from this tribute event will be donated to the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro (Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research).
The legendary actors will attend the screening of Romanzo Popolare by Mario Monicelli, a milestone in their illustrious careers. The film, which brought them immense success, was released 50 years ago and remains a cherished classic of Italian cinema.
Before the screening, Muti and Placido will be honored with the prestigious Stella della Mole, a recognition celebrating their contributions to the world of film.
This special evening is organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro, led by Allegra Agnelli. All proceeds will support the research and treatment activities of the Candiolo Cancer Institute – IRCCS, reaffirming the Torino Film Festival’s commitment to social causes.
The event will take place on Tuesday, November 26, at 6:00 PM at Cinema Romano.
The Torino Film Festival, organized by the National Cinema Museum of Turin, is made possible with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture’s Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual, the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin, the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, and the Fondazione CRT.
