The French Audiovisual Week has wrapped up on a positive note after its latest edition, held from September 2nd to 6th, 2024, in Le Havre, Normandy. Following the success of the previous year’s event in Biarritz in 2023, this year’s "Rendez-Vous" moved to a new location, offering participants an opportunity to explore another region of France.
Despite initial logistical challenges and a change from the sunny atmosphere of Biarritz, attendees were ultimately rewarded with the chance to experience the beauty and cultural richness of Normandy. A highlight of the event was the party held in the picturesque town of Deauville, at the cultural center of Les Franciscaines, which showcased the region’s hospitality.
Sarah Hemar, Audiovisual Director of Unifrance, expressed her satisfaction with the 30th edition of Le Rendez-Vous in Le Havre, saying: “We are very happy with the market. We were about 400 altogether and the party yesterday by the Region Normandie was incredible. The event the day before had a very ‘wow effect’ and worked very well. I think everyone is happy. They are, at least, very busy, and so we’ll gladly be back.”
Her comments reflect the positive reception of this year’s edition, with both the social and professional aspects of the week exceeding expectations.
The president of the Normandy region, who attended the event, also praised the organizers from Unifrance and reaffirmed the region’s commitment to supporting the audiovisual industry in future editions.
Overall, the French Audiovisual Week in Le Havre proved to be a success, offering valuable industry insights and showcasing the charm of this northern French region. The event fostered a busy and productive atmosphere for the 400 participants, ensuring that Le Havre will remain a notable location for future editions.
