Stefano Accorsi plays the role of Guglielmo Marconi in the first miniseries dedicated to the renowned Italian inventor and entrepreneur, known as the father of wireless telegraphy, the inventor of the radio, and a pioneer in modern telecommunications. Marconi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909.
The biopic is produced by Stand by me production in collaboration with Rai Fiction.
Produced by Simona Ercolani, directed by Lucio Pellegrini, the series was created in honor of the 150th anniversary of Marconi's birth (April 25, 1874, in Bologna). Filmed in Emilia-Romagna and Lazio, the series is set in 1937 on the eve of the Second World War.
