Principal photography has commenced for season two of Acorn TV and M-Net’s Recipes for Love and Murder in Prince Albert, nestled at the base of the Swartberg Mountains. Following the widespread acclaim of its debut season, which reached audiences in 94 countries, the upcoming season will feature eight episodes of captivating small-town drama, introducing a host of new characters alongside returning stars Maria Doyle Kennedy (Tannie Maria), Tony Kgoroge (Detective Khaya Meyer), and Kylie Fisher (Jessie September).
As a devastating fire ravages the quaint town of Eden, a series of gripping events unfolds, drawing Tannie Maria, Jessie, and Khaya into a complex murder investigation that exposes the community's darkest secrets. The inaugural season of Recipes for Love and Murder earned recognition at prestigious events such as the Berlinale Market & Co-Production series at the Berlin Film Festival and received nominations at the Venice Television Awards, the South African Film and Television Awards, and the South African Writers Guild Awards.
Based on the beloved Tannie Maria Mystery novels by acclaimed South African author Sally Andrew, Recipes for Love and Murder delivers a delightful and eccentric blend of murder mystery. Directed by the talented duo of Karen Jeynes, who also serves as the series' writer, and Jozua Malherbe, the series is produced by Thierry Cassuto through a collaborative effort between AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, Multichoice, Both Worlds Pictures, in association with Global Screen and Paradoxal.
