Pubcaster RTVE held the 4th Commercial Showcase in Toledo on Wednesday, June 28 in front of more than 130 buyers from 30 different countries, to show the its best fiction content.
Journalist Elena S. Sanchez presented the lineup starting with soap series La Promesa, a hit in Spain and in Italy broadcast by Mediaset. The period drama La Promesa produced by Studio Canal and RTVE "is the great television revelation of the season - said José Pastor director of Film and Fiction of RTVE, during the first session with the showrunner and creator of the series, Josep Cister, actresses Ana Garcés (Jana) and Carmen Asecas (Catalina de Luján) and also the quality and of the wardrobe, 500 costumes created by Tania Álvarez, who showed in detail the spectacular costumes created for the series. The panel was also enriched by the singer and composer Gonzalo Hermida who performed live the main song of the series, of which he is the author.
Among the list of new series upcoming for the next season include:
Operación Barrio Inglés, 4 Estrellas, Esto no es Suecia and Los Argonautas.
At the opening, Marta Torralvo, RTVE's corporate director, highlighted RTVE's firm commitment to quality, credibility, innovation, diversity of genres and attention to all audiences. She also stressed that RTVE "has been able to adapt to the times and to new forms of consumption, producing programmes of global interest, looking at the world in search of an internationalisation that is increasingly necessary and finding the external support and alliances that allow us to grow and become more and more relevant".
