Law enforcement docu-series Avamposti – Nucleo Operativo returns with 5 new episodes on NOVE
After the success of previous seasons, Avamposti – Nucleo Operativo, the docuseries by Claudio Camarca about the daily life of the Stations of the Carabinieri Force, is back with a few more episodes. The 5x70’ series, produced by Stand by Me for Warner Bros. Discovery, returns on NOVE from Tuesday, June 20 at 9:25 p.m. to follow five new stories set in the most difficult neighbourhoods of Rome (Ostia), Caserta, Bologna and Bari. The series is available for streaming on discovery+.

The crew of Avamposti follows the Operational Units of the Carabinieri Force to document the operations in which men and women of the Corps are engaged - often operating in difficult urban contexts where degradation and crime reign amidst narco-mafia and illicit trafficking. Each episode chronicles the Carabinieri teams in their interventions, from planning to patrols and raids on the street, including disruption of drug organizations, house searches and raids, with an adrenaline-fueled, immersive journalism.

Starting from Ostia, the series will explore Rome’s frontier territory where new criminals try to make their way between local clans and historical families. It will then move on to Caserta where, alongside the historic Camorra families, dangerous clans of mainly Nigerian and Gambian origins have established themselves.

In Bologna, the historic centre has been in the hands of two well-organized criminal groups for decades: one dealing hard drugs, the other handling soft and chemical drugs. These gangs prey on college students, causing a strong social alarm, an issue on which the Carabinieri's activities pivot. Closing out the series, a double episode focusing on Bari, a city that has taken on a new connotation in recent years, managing to redeem itself from its dark reputation thanks to constant and significant intervention by the state.
