MIYU Distribution and Les Films Du Préau Take The Wolf’s Dinner to Theatrical and Festival Markets
La Cabane and Thuristar have announced new partnerships with MIYU Distribution and Les Films du Préau for the theatrical and festival distribution of the 30-minute animated special The Wolf’s Dinner, formerly titled A Lamb’s Stew, written and directed by Joeri Christiaen. Les Films du Préau will handle the special’s theatrical distribution in France and French-speaking Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. MIYU Distribution will oversee theatrical distribution across the rest of the world, as well as worldwide festival distribution.

“I am delighted to be working once again with Les Films du Préau and Miyu Distribution, who did a brilliant job in the same roles on Britt Raes’ short film Luce and the Rock, which continues to enjoy success in theatres, in sales and at festivals to this day,” said Perrine Gauthier, co-founder of La Cabane and producer of the film.
“We are delighted to again be working with La Cabane and to offer cinema-goers the chance to discover this modern fable, which brilliantly turns the myth of the big bad wolf upside down,” added Emmanuelle Chevalier, founder and CEO of Les Films du Préau.
“I was fortunate enough to work on Joeri Christiaen’s first series right at the start of my career, and it is with great pleasure that we’ll put all of Miyu Distribution’s resources behind this new project of his,” said Luce Grosjean, co-founder and president of Miyu Distribution.

Other partners have already joined the project, including CAKE, which will handle the international distribution of the programme’s audiovisual rights. The special has also secured commitments from broadcasters including Canal+ in France, VRT-Ketnet and RTBF in Belgium, ZDF in Germany, RTS in Switzerland and TV5Monde in France.

The Wolf’s Dinner has received support from the MEDIA Creative Europe programme, CNC, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), the Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Procirep and Angoa. The special is an original creation directed by Joeri Christiaen, known for Mush-Mush and My Knight and Me, and produced using open-source software Blender. Christiaen also serves as art director and writer, working with Claire Paoletti (Shooom’s Odyssey) as writing consultant during development and Julia Smuts Louw (Star Wars: Visions – Aau’s Song) as script editor on the final screenplay.

The English-language version features Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), T’Nia Miller (Sex Education) and young Iris Onyejiuwa in the lead roles. The French-language cast will be announced in the fall. The story follows Billie, a young lamb determined to prove that sheep can be as brave as any other animal. When she decides to confront the mysterious wolf lurking nearby, she sets out to lure him into a trap, embarking on an adventure that challenges everything her clan believes it knows. Behind the terrifying image the sheep have built of the wolf lies a very different reality. Through Billie’s journey, the film explores how prejudice, inherited stories and collective fears shape the way we see the world — and those who are different from us.
