Mediaset Showcases Social Impact, Animation and New Talent at Giffoni Film Festival
Mediaset is reaffirming its commitment to young audiences, cultural initiatives and audiovisual innovation at the 56th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival with three exclusive events highlighting the group's investment in socially driven storytelling, restored film heritage and emerging creative talent.
The first event, that took place on July 18 at Sala Truffaut, marks the world premiere of In Crescendo, a new short film produced by Mediafriends, the philanthropic organization founded by Mediaset, Mondadori and Medusa and chaired by Pier Silvio Berlusconi. Written and directed by Fabrizio Montagner, the short follows the Quattro Ottavi Youth Orchestra, made up of musicians aged 11 to 25, as they prepare for a special performance for residents of Milan's Girola nursing home, part of the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation. The film celebrates music as a tool for inclusion and intergenerational connection.
On July 19, Mediaset Infinity presented the restored version of Enzo d'Alò's acclaimed animated classic The Seagull and the Cat (La Gabbianella e il gatto) in a special preview screening at Sala Lumière, nearly 30 years after the film's original theatrical release. Director Enzo d'Alò will attend the event, while the restored feature will become available on the Mediaset Infinity streaming platform the following day.

The final event, scheduled for July 20 at Sala Verde, will introduce Effetto Domino, a new five-part docu-reality produced by Infinity LAB and directed by Marco Cortesi and Mara Moschini. Presented through an interactive workshop featuring a psychologist, the session will encourage audiences to share their emotions and personal experiences in real time.
Supported by Mediaset's Mediaset per il Futuro social responsibility initiative, Effetto Domino explores five universal and complex emotions while promoting discussion around issues of social relevance. The project also highlights the mission of Infinity LAB, Mediaset Infinity's permanent creative hub dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers and independent production companies.
