Iberseries & Platino Industria Expands Co-Production and Training Initiatives for 2026 Edition
At the Marché du Film during the Cannes Film Festival, Iberseries & Platino Industria unveiled a new slate of initiatives aimed at strengthening international co-production, professional training and strategic partnerships across the Ibero-American and European audiovisual industries. The organization announced the opening of submissions for Euro Atlantic Series Co-Pro Pitch, the Co-Production and Financing Forum, the Showrunner Training Workshop and the new Think Like a Producer: Creative Business Strategy workshop.

Euro Atlantic Series Co-Pro Pitch launches as a new initiative designed to foster the co-production and international circulation of fiction, docuseries and animated series created with global audiences in mind from the outset. The program aims to strengthen collaboration between countries across the European Atlantic axis, including Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and Luxembourg, as well as Nordic countries and other European territories with strong Atlantic connections such as the UK. Up to seven projects in advanced development stages will be selected, with priority given to projects demonstrating international co-production potential, solid financing strategies and global distribution ambitions.

Now in its fifth edition, the Co-Production and Financing Forum is aimed at filmmakers, producers and directors from Ibero-America and Europe. The initiative focuses on supporting fiction feature films, docuseries and animated series currently in advanced development and seeking financing opportunities. The forum is designed to connect audiovisual projects with potential co-production, co-financing, distribution and international sales partners, while strengthening collaboration models between companies and professionals from different territories. A maximum of 10 series projects and 10 feature film projects will be selected to participate in one-to-one meetings with producers, sales agents, distributors, platforms and financing partners accredited at the event.

The Showrunner Training Workshop continues as one of the leading platforms dedicated to nurturing new Spanish-language series talent within the Ibero-American audiovisual sector. Coordinated by The Core School in collaboration with CIMA, the program offers specialized training focused on the creative, executive and managerial responsibilities of the showrunner role. The workshop will take place entirely in person during the event, while selected projects will also receive two online mentoring sessions in the months leading up to the onsite program.

The new Think Like a Producer: Creative Business Strategy workshop is designed to strengthen fiction project development from creative, industrial and market-oriented perspectives. The training program will be held onsite at Matadero Madrid during two days of the 2026 edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria. It is aimed at producers, directors, writers and development executives interested in acquiring tools to enhance audiovisual projects with business models adapted to the current Ibero-American market landscape. The workshop will be led by Leonardo Zimbrón, producer and current SVP of Co-Production at 3Pas Studios.

All submissions will remain open until Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 16:00 (GMT+2).Professional accreditation for Iberseries & Platino Industria, currently available with early bird rates, grants access to project submissions and the event’s professional activities program.
