Nelonen Orders Finnish Adaptation of The A Talks
Finnish broadcaster Nelonen has commissioned a local adaptation of CAN’T STOP media’s interview format The A Talks, marking the 21st international version of the format. Produced by Fremantle, the Finnish edition — titled Epätyypillisesti — is currently filming an eight-episode first season set to air weekly in primetime on Nelonen during the second half of the year. The broadcaster is also partnering with leading Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat for companion editorial content across its digital platforms. The series will feature well-known Finnish comedians, musicians, writers, athletes and political figures interviewed by a panel of autistic, neurodivergent and learning-disabled interviewers. As with previous international adaptations, local health organizations and NGOs are supporting the production and participants throughout the process.

Originally produced by Quad+TEN and Kiosco TV, part of Webedia-owned Elephant Group, the format launched on France 2 in 2022 and has since become one of the broadcaster’s standout factual entertainment titles. In each episode, a celebrity guest faces a group of 30 neurodivergent journalists whose candid and unfiltered questions aim to reveal a more authentic side of the interviewee. The format also incorporates artistic performances including music, poetry and drawing created by the contributors.
The French version is now in its fourth season and has delivered its highest ratings to date. An episode featuring Emmanuel Macron drew 4.6 million live viewers and a 22.5% audience share, becoming the most-watched unscripted title on France.tv’s catch-up platform.

CAN’T STOP media said the format continues to expand internationally, with returning seasons and new commissions across territories including France, the UK, Brazil, Poland, Canada, Spain, Wales, Norway and Israel.
