KC Global Media Distribution has confirmed the worldwide rollout of its latest scripted title, A Controversial Entertainer, a ten-episode Taiwanese comedic drama set to debut across multiple major platforms beginning in May. Originally introduced at ATF 2025, the series will premiere on Netflix, iQIYI and NOW TV on May 15, with Singtel following on June 8. Additional territories are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are delighted by the strong momentum A Controversial Entertainer has gained following our KC Global Media distribution showcase at ATF 2025,” said Bonnie Wiryani, Vice President, Revenue and Head of Content Sales, KC Global Media. “The level of interest not only reinforces our commitment to championing Asian content but also opens up opportunities for remakes and localized adaptations across the globe, with several partners already expressing keen interest in this title. We look forward to bringing the content to audiences around the world.”
The story centers on Pan Hao, a small-time gangster whose obsession with diamonds lands him inside a psychiatric hospital. As he navigates a chaotic pursuit, he finds himself alongside a group of individuals with hidden pasts who take refuge in a male escort club. In an unexpected twist, they reinvent themselves as five in-demand escorts, blending absurdity with glamour. The ensemble cast includes Shih Chih Tian, Wes Lo, Alex Chou, Ben Wu, Marcus Chang and Chen I. The series will be available in Mandarin with English subtitles.
The deal underscores KC Global Media Distribution’s continued expansion in the international marketplace, as it strengthens creative alliances and builds a diverse portfolio of globally appealing content, further amplifying Asian storytelling on the world stage.
