Luis Fernández, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, has confirmed his participation in Iberseries & Platino Industria 2026, reinforcing the event’s status as one of the most influential forums for debate and strategic insight in the audiovisual sector.With a career spanning television, radio, film, and sport, Fernández is among the most internationally recognized Spanish executives in the global media landscape. In his current role, he oversees NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a leading producer and distributor of premium Spanish-language content for U.S. Hispanic audiences and viewers worldwide.
Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles across some of the industry’s most prominent organizations, including Executive President of RTVE, as well as Head of News at Canal+, Telecinco, Cadena SER, El País, and Cadena COPE. He also served as International Executive Director of Real Madrid for the Asia-Pacific region, where he helped drive the club’s international expansion.In the United States, Fernández held several top-tier executive positions, including Executive Vice President of Telemundo Network News, President of Univision Studios, and President of Entertainment at Univision Communications, becoming one of the few Spanish executives to reach such senior levels in the U.S. audiovisual market.
He graduated in Journalism from Complutense University of Madrid, has received multiple Emmy Awards, and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Rey Juan Carlos University.During the sixth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria 2026, taking place from September 29 to October 2 at Matadero Madrid, Fernández will deliver a keynote examining the rise of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises as the leading Spanish-language network. His presentation will focus on the company’s multiplatform strategy, combining the power of live programming and sports rights—including the FIFA World Cup—with innovation in scripted formats and micro-dramas designed to engage younger audiences.
