CONECTA Magaluf–Mallorca Unveils First Speakers and Introduces Curated 1-2-1 Meetings Model
CONECTA Magaluf–Mallorca has confirmed its first wave of international speakers while unveiling a significant shift in its programming strategy, centred on curated one-to-one meetings designed to facilitate concrete business outcomes.
Marking its 10th anniversary, the market is moving away from traditional volume-based networking formats in favour of a more targeted, deal-oriented approach, reinforcing its positioning as a boutique event within the global audiovisual ecosystem.

Among the first confirmed speakers are Caroline Servy (The Wit), Avi Armoza (Armoza Formats), Sebastian Van Barneveld (Talpa Studios) and Senay Tas (Global Agency), alongside key industry figures such as Dario Turovelzky (Telefe), José Eduardo Moniz (TVI), Ignacio Fernández-Vega (TBS, Grupo Telefónica), Emilio Sánchez (Atresmedia), Alberto Fernández (RTVE Playz), Morad Koufane (France TV), and Sophie Valais and Diego de la Vega (European Audiovisual Observatory). The line-up also includes executives based in the Balearic Islands, such as Mike Day (Palma Pictures), Álvaro Iglesias (Solworks) and Martin Nigro (MNS Studios), reflecting the event’s increasing integration with the local production ecosystem.

Beyond its conference panels, CONECTA will host a series of hands-on workshops led by leading European producers and executives, including Andri Ómarsson (Glassriver), Paloma Mora (TV On Producción), Mariela Besuievsky (Tornasol), Pandora da Cunha Telles (Ukbar) and Zaida Carmona (Filmin). These sessions will focus on the operational dynamics of European co-production.
Financing remains a central pillar of the programme, with Alexandra Lebret (Axio) addressing investment structures, while Sandra Agudo (Konga Music) will provide a cross-industry perspective.

The agenda also reflects key market shifts, including the growing role of AI in production workflows and the emergence of microdrama as a rapid prototyping tool for new IP. U.S. producer Jay Blumenfield (The Jay and Tony Show)Ja is set to offer insights from the Los Angeles market.
Editorially, this year’s edition will explore the evolution of IP towards longer lifecycle strategies, digital-first commissioning models, the global expansion of sports entertainment, and branded content as an alternative financing mechanism. These themes are framed within a broader context of structural change, including evolving regulatory frameworks and new funding models.

A key innovation for 2026 is the introduction of FOCUS ON, a new strand replacing the traditional Focus Countries model. The initiative is built around curated 1-2-1 meetings connecting commissioners, producers and investors.
Rather than prioritising scale, the format emphasises precision: meetings will be pre-selected based on editorial compatibility and strategic alignment, ensuring interactions between executives with real decision-making authority across commissioning, financing and distribution.
With this shift, CONECTA strengthens its identity as a highly curated marketplace focused on efficiency, meaningful connections and tangible deal-making.

The evolution of CONECTA is closely aligned with the broader repositioning of Magaluf, which in recent years has transitioned from a leisure-driven destination to a Mediterranean hub for international professional events.
Located within the Calvià municipality, the area now offers a more diversified model centred on culture, sustainability and business tourism. Its infrastructure — including proximity to Palma Airport (less than 20 minutes) and venues such as Meliá Calvià Beach — supports its growing appeal for global industry gatherings.

CONECTA Magaluf–Mallorca is part of the Event CONECTA platform, created by Inside Content, which encompasses a portfolio of international events spanning content, technology, innovation and creative development. Its flagship market, formerly known as Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT, is now positioned among the leading global audiovisual industry gatherings. The 2026 edition will take place from 25 to 28 May in Magaluf (Calvià, Mallorca), with the support of local and regional institutions including Calvià Town Council, ICIB, the Mallorca Island Council, Palma City Council and IB3.
