SPi’s Cold Haven Gains International Recognition With Festival Nominations and Awards Buzz
SPi’s fiction continues to strengthen its international profile as Cold Haven secures major recognition across key global festivals and awards. The drama has been nominated at the New York Festivals in the category Entertainment Special: Drama Special, while also making the shortlist for the 2026 Global Production Awards in the category Location of the Year, highlighting excellence and sustainability in filming locations.
Further accolades come from the 2026 Eddan Awards in Iceland, where the series’ cast has received notable recognition. Catarina Rebelo is nominated for Actress of the Year, while Ivo Canelas is in contention for Actor in a Supporting Role, underlining the strength of the production’s performances.

Co-produced by SPi and Icelandic company Glassriver for RTP, Cold Haven represents the first collaboration between Portugal and Iceland in scripted production. The series blends Nordic noir elements with Southern European storytelling, following the investigation into the violent death of a woman on a remote island, gradually revealing hidden tensions within an isolated community.

The eight-episode drama is available on RTP Play and features an international cast led by Catarina Rebelo and Maria João Bastos, alongside Kristín Þóra Haraldsdóttir, Viktor Benóný Benediktsson, Ivo Canelas, Cleia Almeida and Rui Morisson. The series was created by Filipa Poppe, Joana Andrade and Sveinbjörn I. Baldvinsson.
