Yes Studios has announced a new agreement with Brazil’s Teleimage for the first Latin American adaptation of the global hit "Your Honor". The announcement follows the recent K7 Tracking the Scripted Giants Report, which identified the series as the world’s joint number one scripted format of the 2020s.
Brazil marks the 14th country to produce a localized version of the legal thriller, joining a list that includes the US, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, Russia, India, Hong Kong, Ukraine, Poland, and Greece.
Originally titled "Kvodo", "Your Honor" tells the story of a respected senior judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident, leading to a web of moral dilemmas and high-stakes secrets. The original series was created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach and produced by yes TV and Koda Communications.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity of bringing to life a Brazilian version of 'Your Honor'. Since the first time this possibility was shown to us, we were immediately confident that this project will resonate strongly with Brazilian audiences and make an impact on both domestic and regional markets. 'Your Honor' has a perfect mix of what Brazilian audiences mostly enjoy: a strong story structure, filled with unexpected twists, intense pacing, and characters so vivid one could expect them to pop out of the screen. I couldn’t think of a better fit,” stated Eliane Ferreira, Director of Business and Content of Teleimage.
Sharon Levi, Managing Director of yes Studios, added: “We are so proud to continue Your Honor’s ongoing international journey with our new partners at Teleimage and are excited to work with its talented team to develop this standout series for one of the biggest television markets in the world. The incredible twists and turns in the plot of Your Honor, coupled with its central focus around family, especially the unbreakable bonds between parents and their children, will – we hope - prove a powerful draw for audiences in Brazil.”
