One of Italy’s most iconic entertainment formats is set to return to prime time. Super Karaoke will soon air on Canale 5 in a completely refreshed version, hosted by Michelle Hunziker.
The new edition will consist of two special prime-time episodes, recorded in the historic setting of Piazza Trento e Trieste in Ferrara on March 26 and 27. The choice of location reinforces the show’s connection to public space and collective experience, a defining element of the original format.
Across the two nights, Hunziker will be joined on stage by a lineup of major Italian music artists, including Noemi, Al Bano, Raf, Ivana Spagna, Anna Tatangelo, Francesco Renga, Sal Da Vinci and Serena Brancale. Their presence underscores the show’s positioning as a large-scale musical event designed to appeal to a broad, multi-generational audience.
Originally a cultural phenomenon in Italian television hosted by Fiorello, Super Karaoke returns at a time when broadcasters are increasingly leveraging established IP to compete in a fragmented media landscape. By combining nostalgia with a modern production approach and a high-profile host, Canale 5 aims to re-engage viewers through a format that celebrates music, community, and live performance.
