STUDIOCANAL and Canal+ announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Lucky Red, one of Italy's most prominent distribution and production companies. Founded in 1987 by Andrea Occhipinti, Lucky Red has evolved from an independent art-house distributor into a major force in the Italian market, boasting a catalog of over 600 films and numerous international accolades.

This acquisition marks a new chapter in a long-term relationship between both entities, which have previously collaborated on hits such as "We Live In Time" and the German production "Heidi". The partnership will continue with upcoming releases including "Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom" and "Fonda", the new project from director Justine Triet starring Mia Goth and Andrew Scott. For STUDIOCANAL, this move expands its direct operations into Italy, adding to its presence in 11 other European territories, while Lucky Red gains the resources to pursue more ambitious creative projects.
