Banijay Benelux unveiled two new non-scripted formats, "The Bicycle Race" and "Last One Standing," during The London TV Screenings, underscoring the company’s ambition to deliver bold, internationally scalable entertainment concepts.
"The Bicycle Race" is a new adventure reality format created by EndemolShine Nederland and Talpa Studios for SBS6. The series follows six celebrities who team up with a partner for an epic journey through India completed entirely by bike.
James Townley, Chief Content Officer, Development at Banijay Entertainment, praised the format: “This uplifting and visually striking adventure format combines scale, emotion, jeopardy and strategy in a distinctive way. Showcasing ‘The Bicycle Race’ at The London TV Screenings allows us to highlight its strong international potential, and we believe its universal themes and cinematic scope will resonate across multiple markets.”
On the other hand, Banijay also presented "Last One Standing," a competition format co-developed by RTL Creative Unit and SimpelZodiak for Videoland. The series follows celebrities in a stripped-back camp where they face elite-level trials designed by top athletes. A defining feature is its AI-powered fit room, which reveals each participant’s physical condition in real time.
Justine Huffmeijer, Managing Director of SimpelZodiak, commented: “We set out to build a premium challenge engine that is both demanding and purposeful, showcasing extraordinary physical feats while inspiring viewers. From the AI-powered fit room to the precision-designed trials, ‘Last One Standing’ reflects the cultural shift towards health, longevity and performance, and we believe it is primed to build a passionate and highly engaged community on and off screen.”
