Franco Nero has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Motion Pictures category by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, marking a prestigious recognition of one of the most enduring and influential careers in international cinema. The ceremony took place in Los Angeles during the eleventh edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles, the festival founded and directed by Tiziana Rocca.
An undisputed icon of both Italian and global cinema, Franco Nero represents a rare example of artistic longevity and versatility. Over a career spanning more than six decades, the actor has appeared in more than 200 films, collaborating with some of the most prominent directors in film history, including Sergio Corbucci, Luis Buñuel, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Quentin Tarantino.
Nero achieved international fame with his unforgettable portrayal of the title character in Django (1966), a role that established him as one of the defining figures of the Spaghetti Western and secured his place in cinematic history. Yet his career has never been confined to a single genre or image. Moving seamlessly between auteur cinema and popular productions, and working across film, theatre and television, Nero has continuously reinvented himself while maintaining a distinctive artistic identity.
Known for his magnetic screen presence and disciplined approach to acting, he remains a reference point for generations of performers and a powerful ambassador of Italian cinema worldwide.
The award ceremony coincided with the eleventh edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles, created and directed by Tiziana Rocca through Agnus Dei, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, led by Emanuele Amendola. Held from February 10 to 14, 2026, the event takes place under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and continues to serve as a key platform for promoting Italian audiovisual excellence and strengthening cultural ties between Italy and the international entertainment industry.
