“The Floor” is back on RTVE for a second season, building on the success that made it the channel’s most competitive game show in 23 years. The format returns with a series of new elements designed to raise the levels of tension, excitement and spectacle in every episode.
The show once again brings together 100 contestants competing on a giant LED floor divided into 100 squares, each representing a specific area of knowledge tied to the player occupying it. The goal remains simple: conquer the board, eliminate rivals and become the last contestant standing to win the €100,000 cash prize.
Season two expands the show’s universe with 100 new knowledge categories, ranging from cultural and television references such as “Operación Triunfo” and TVE’s 70th anniversary, to “The Lord of the Rings,” Joaquín Sabina and skylines. These sit alongside classic topics like flags and sports crests, as well as more unconventional categories including hypocoristics, obsolete words and traditional trades.
Following the strong performance of its debut run, “The Floor” returns with a more striking set design and introduces one of its most significant innovations to date: a live studio audience, intensifying the pressure and drama of each duel.
Chenoa returns as host for a second season, further cementing her role at the helm of one of prime time’s most demanding game shows. Her pace, warmth and ability to manage tension remain central to the format’s appeal.
According to consultancy The Wit, “The Floor” was the most adapted unscripted format worldwide in 2025, with 30 international adaptations. The format has also earned three nominations at Spain’s Iris Awards, including Best Entertainment Programme, Best Direction and Best Entertainment Production.
“The Floor” is an original format created and distributed by Talpa Studios, and co-produced by RTVE and Satisfaction Iberia.
