Parrot Analytics has unveiled the winners of the 8th Annual Global Demand Awards, recognizing the most in-demand TV series and films worldwide in 2025. In a year marked by the industry’s shift from growth-driven strategies to profitability, Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and pan-India hit “Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2” emerged as the top World’s Choice winners.
Unlike traditional awards, the Global Demand Awards are entirely data-driven, based on Parrot Analytics’ global audience demand measurement system, which tracks engagement across more than 100 markets, capturing viewership, social interaction and consumer behavior.
Netflix’s “Stranger Things” claimed World’s Choice – Most In-Demand TV Show, along with drama and horror honors, underscoring the power of global event television. Its final season generated unprecedented, synchronized demand, driving record viewership and reigniting interest across the entire franchise.
On the film side, “Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2” dominated the awards, winning five categories including World’s Choice – Most In-Demand Movie. With worldwide box office exceeding USD 200 million, the film highlights the growing global reach of pan-India cinema and its ability to compete head-to-head with Hollywood franchises.
Regional winners further emphasized the importance of authentic local storytelling, with Netflix’s “The Eternaut (El Eternauta)” named Most In-Demand Latin American Original Series, and “Squid Game” securing Most In-Demand Asian Original Series, reinforcing the sustained global appeal of Korean content.
The winners also reflected the enduring strength of established franchises and library titles, with “The Voice (US)”, “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Titanic” once again demonstrating their ability to sustain long-term global demand.
