ARD subsidiary OneGate Media has acquired worldwide (w/o Switzerland and Liechtenstein) distribution rights to the gripping new crime thriller series "BLIND" (6x58’), based on the bestselling MILLA NOVA novels by Swiss author Christine Brand.
"BLIND" follows Nathaniel, a visually impaired bartender who shows up at a police station in the middle of the night, covered in blood, claiming that a pregnant woman has been kidnapped from his bar. When investigators find signs of a struggle but no trace of the victim, Inspector Bandini quickly identifies Nathaniel as the prime suspect. Determined to prove his innocence, Nathaniel finds an unlikely ally in Milla, a bold investigative journalist who shares a mysterious childhood bond with him. As the two begin to dig deeper, they uncover a web of lies, secrets and hidden connections that force them into Switzerland’s darkest corners – and into the path of a conspiracy that tests the limits of trust and perception.
"BLIND" is created by Plinio Bachmann, co-directed by Christian Johannes Koch and Barbara Kulcsar and produced by Zodiac Pictures. Each season of the series is inspired by one of Christine Brand’s bestselling novels, which have sold over 400,000 copies to date.
The series will premiere on SRF in Switzerland in late 2026. A second season is already in development. OneGate Media will handle the worldwide distribution of the series, making it available to broadcasters and streaming platforms around the globe.
Tania Reichert-Facilides, Managing Director of OneGate Media says: “'BLIND' elevates the crime genre to a new level. It represents the growing international appetite for sophisticated European storytelling, as well as the high-quality production value that we prioritise on our slate. We are proud to bring this remarkable series to international audiences and to further strengthen our growing portfolio of premium crime brands.”
Jessica Hefti at Zodiac Pictures adds: “This series, like Brand’s novels, is truly ‘made in Switzerland’- and packed with twists and turns, intriguing characters and psychological depth. At the heart of this series is the character of Nathaniel and his visual impairment, adding a unique and powerful element to the story. We’re delighted to partner with OneGate Media, and with their expertise we’re confident this series will captivate audiences around the world.”
