The format centres on darts and takes its name from the show’s mascot, Bully, an animated puppet in the shape of a bull, and the ‘bullseye’, i.e. the small central circle of the target which is the most difficult to hit.
Three teams, each comprising one amateur darts player and one quiz expert, compete against each other to win cash and prizes. The rules of the game have changed over the course of the 15 series in which it has been broadcast and also depend on the rules of darts, a very popular sport in the UK but much less so elsewhere, so I must confess that they are not entirely clear to me either ; ). In any case, although it is not easily exportable, it is a game that has thrilled and entertained generations of Britons and will certainly continue to do so.

Another example of reboot comes from Australia. In 2026, public broadcaster ABC will air the competitive travel show Race Around the World, which is based on the Canadian series La Course Destination Mode (1988–1999). The new version will be produced by Endemol Shine Australia.
The format combines filmmaking and travel in a competitive setting. Eight aspiring documentary makers travelled to all corners of the globe in search of edgy, original stories. With no access to mobile phones, email, Google Maps or a network of contacts, each contestant had to rely on their own initiative. They had just 90 minutes of videotape and plenty of determination.
Unlike the UK game show, which aired for a very long time, this programme ran in Canada for only two series, from 1997 to 1998. Therefore, it cannot be said that it is a classic firmly established in viewers’ memories. In fact, even on ABC’s official website, where casting for the programme is open, they explain how the format works because it may be “not familiar”.
