Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025 Unveils Packed Conference Program in Madrid
Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025, set for September 30–October 3 at Matadero Madrid, has revealed an ambitious program that will once again transform the Spanish capital into a global hub for the audiovisual industry. The event, promoted by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya in collaboration with FIPCA, has become the leading marketplace for dialogue and business between Europe and Latin America.

Keynotes & Spotlights
Among the headline sessions, acclaimed showrunner John Altschuler (USA), creator of Silicon Valley, will reflect on the craft of storytelling and the evolving role of the showrunner. Actress Luisana Lopilato (Argentina) will present her transition into production, highlighting how her artistic background shapes her creative vision.

Spotlights will showcase major industry players:
Telemundo, led by Javier Pons, will outline its editorial strategy for 2026, with a focus on fiction and formats for the Hispanic and international markets.
Secuoya Studios will host The Year of Global Expansion, with Chris Moukarbel (Permanent Wave, USA), Chiara Cardoso (BlackBox Multimedia, UK), Sydney Gallonde (Make it Happen Studios, France), and Jónas Margeir (Act4, Iceland), moderated by CEO Brendan Fitzgerald.
Sony Music Spain will preview upcoming content across film, TV, and music, with contributions from Buendía Estudios, director Alexis Morante, and Sony Music Vision executives.

The program also tackles pressing creative and business issues:
Building Value from Latin America will explore how local stories achieve global resonance, with executives from Globoplay and Oscar-winning designer Eugenio Caballero.
Carlota: The Empress Who Crosses Borders, a Sony Pictures Television series, will be presented as a case study of premium Latin content.
Other sessions will address remakes in Latin America, strategies for retaining IP (El Clan Olimpia), and the role of business affairs in aligning audiovisual production with public policy.

Dedicated sessions will spotlight national industries:
Focus Mexico will highlight its emergence as a world-class production hub, with executives from Alameda Films, Lemon Studios, and the Mexico City Film Commission.
Focus Italia will bring Italian producers and the Ministry of Culture together to discuss international co-productions, financing models, and tax incentives.

Medellín, Audiovisual Spring will showcase the Colombian city’s growing role as a creative hub.
Innovation, Talent & AI
Artificial intelligence will be a central theme, with panels on copyright, authorship, and its transformative role in recruitment and content creation. Discussions will feature representatives from GESAC, EGEDA, Telefónica/Movistar Plus+, and leading academics.
Talent and diversity will also be in focus: Platino EDUCA & Nebrija Chair will analyze female leadership in scripted series across Spain, Mexico, and Colombia. Meanwhile, 20 Years of CREA SGR will celebrate two decades of supporting Spanish cinema.

Networking & New Tools
The event will officially launch FIPCA CONECTA, a new app designed to become the networking and resource hub for the Ibero-American audiovisual community, offering market insights, festival information, and professional directories.
