Berlin-based production company SKP Entertainment GmbH has acquired the exclusive rights to adapt MOST!, a Czech television series that became a national hit. Originally broadcast on Česká televize, the show attracted up to 2.5 million viewers per episode—an impressive figure in a country of around 11 million.
Created by Petr Kolečko and directed by Jan Prušinovský, MOST! is known for its mix of sharp humor and social commentary. Set in a small town, the series tackles themes of identity, inclusion, and local pride, all through the lens of everyday life. Its distinctive tone and unfiltered storytelling resonated strongly with Czech audiences and sparked widespread discussion.
Now, SKP Entertainment aims to bring that unique voice to German screens, marking another step in the growing trend of cross-border adaptations in European television.
According to the Goethe-Institut, “From its very first episodes, MOST! became a legend”—a testament to its cultural impact and potential for international relevance. In addition to the impressive overall reach of the linear broadcast of the series, the five-fold increase in market share in the target group of young men (14-29 years: 50.3% compared to 10.3% on average according to ATO Nielsen Admosphere) and the massive increase in time-shifted viewing are particularly noteworthy. The market share (15+) rose from 34.9% when the first episode was broadcast to 50.2% for the eighth and final episode.
Alexander Keil, Executive Producer & Managing Director at SKP Entertainment: “MOST! Shows what happens when you combine strong characters with real emotion and social relevance. It’s not just a Czech success – it’s a blueprint for bold storytelling. We’re proud to bring this format to German viewers.”The project comes at a time when audiences worldwide are responding strongly to emotionally grounded, hyperlocal narratives.
The adaptation will be executive produced by Alexander Keil and Stefan Stuckmann, whose recent coming-of-age series JUGEND (ZDFneo) was praised for its authenticity and formal innovation.SKP Entertainment has also recently adapted the Spanish hit show Poquita Fe from Movistar Plus+ for ProSiebenSat1-owned streamer Joyn under the German title Die StiNos, bringing the understated brilliance of Spanish slow comedy to a German audience.
Petr Kolečko: “The response to MOST! in the Czech Republic surprised all of us. But it made one thing clear: the themes we touched are universal. I’m excited to see what this next version can become and SKP is the perfect partner for it.”
The deal was brokered by Margareta Abena and veteran producer Pavel Marik.
