On Tuesday, May 27, in prime time, Canale 5 premieres a new drama series titled  Double Game (Doppio gioco), marking the highly anticipated return of Alessandra Mastronardi to Mediaset's scripted productions. She stars alongside Max Tortora, rekindling a beloved on-screen partnership that once captivated audiences in I Cesaroni—the hit series set in Rome’s Garbatella district, which itself is rumored to be returning to screens after more than a decade.

This four-part series, produced by RTI and Fabula Pictures and directed by Andrea Molaioli, blends psychological intrigue with action, weaving a suspenseful narrative around identity, loyalty, and deception.

Mastronardi plays Daria, a young woman gifted with an extraordinary skill: she can "read" people. This unique talent, inherited from her father—a master observer who died in a tragic accident when she was a child—was cultivated through the game of poker, which he used to teach her how to analyze behavior and decode subtle signals.

Her gift catches the attention of the Secret Services, who recruit her for a covert mission: to infiltrate the criminal world and expose a notorious figure known as Gemini (played by Max Tortora), a high-ranking player in international crime. But when Daria meets him, something about Gemini feels eerily familiar. Could he be connected to her past?

Despite her doubts, Daria accepts the mission under the command of Major Ettore Napoli (Simone Liberati), but she keeps her suspicions to herself. As she delves deeper into the investigation, Daria finds herself drawn into a dangerous game—one where the stakes go beyond duty, and every hand could reveal devastating truths.
