Produced for Channel 5, The Game is a four-part fiction series filmed entirely in Bilbao and Vitoria during November and December 2024. The show is a gripping psychological thriller that follows a retired detective, haunted by a failed case that ended his career. When a new neighbor moves in, he becomes convinced it's the elusive serial killer he never caught. But is he chasing the truth—or being consumed by his obsession?
The series features a stellar cast including Jason Watkins (The Crown), Robson Green (Grantchester), Sunetra Sarker (Ackley Bridge), and Amber James. It is directed by Toby Frow (Death in Paradise) and executive produced by Mike Benson, Suzi McIntosh, and Rachel Gesua.
Sara Fernández-Velasco, CEO of iZen, commented:"The launch of iZen Euskadi reflects our strong belief in the creative potential of the Basque Country. We want to be a bridge between national and international production, offering a professional, creative, and competitive environment."
iZen’s activity in the Basque Country also includes its original series Desaparecido/Desagertuta, co-produced with Pausoka, which premiered this week on Primeran (EITB) and Netflix Spain, where it quickly entered the Top 10 within just 24 hours.
