This year, La Pimpa, the beloved red-spotted dog created by Italian cartoonist Altan, celebrates her 50th anniversary. To mark the occasion, RaiPlay and RaiPlay Sound are bringing a special tribute to COMICON Naples, the international pop culture festival taking place from May 1 to 4, now in its 25th edition.
For the second year in a row, Rai’s digital platforms are part of the event, and this time they’re celebrating a true icon of Italian children’s entertainment. Since her debut in 1975, Pimpa has captured the hearts of generations with her adventures, her curious spirit, and her friendship with Armando and the other whimsical characters who populate her world.
To honor her legacy, RaiPlay, in collaboration with Rai Kids, Quipos, and COMICON, is offering a special collection titled “Tanti auguri, Pimpa!”. Available exclusively on the platform, the collection includes all episodes of the animated series and four classic specials—Pimpa e l’anatroccolo Alì, Pimpa e Olivia Paperina, Pimpa – Una giornata speciale, and Pimpa – Storia di Natale—also made available in accessible versions thanks to Rai Pubblica Utilità.
The celebration continues at COMICON with a special screening on May 2 at 12:00 PM, featuring the very first episode of the original Pimpa series. Creator Altan will be present, offering fans a rare chance to connect with the mind behind one of Italy’s most cherished children’s characters.
Alongside Pimpa’s milestone, RaiPlay is also highlighting other major children’s content. From May 1 to June 8, fans of Winx Club can enjoy the full collection of the series with all eight seasons (208 episodes) and six feature films, brought to the platform thanks to a collaboration with Rai Kids, Rainbow, and COMICON.
Also streaming is the new live-action reboot of Gormiti – The New Era, which reimagines the popular fantasy series through the story of four teenagers chosen to protect Earth and the mystical realm of Gorm. The 20-episode season introduces a fresh take on the franchise, aimed at a new generation of fans.
