After more than two decades, Winx Club is ready to begin a new era. The popular animated series, created by Iginio Straffi and produced by Rainbow, returns this fall with a reboot that promises to bring the original story back to life with a contemporary twist. The new series will premiere in September on Rai Kids, followed by a global release on Netflix in October.
To mark the 21st anniversary of the show, Rainbow is slowly revealing new details about the reboot. Among the most notable is the involvement of Virginia Bocelli, daughter of tenor Andrea Bocelli, who lends her voice to “Forever Winx”, an original song that will accompany the transformation sequences of the six main fairies. The track, described as delicate and melodic, reflects the updated tone of the series. A preview, featuring the transformation of the character Flora, has already been released on YouTube.
Throughout April, Rainbow is unveiling the new transformation designs one by one. The updated look keeps the series’ trademark visual flair, with colorful wings and sparkling effects, while also setting the stage for a refreshed fashion doll collection arriving later this year.
“Forever Winx” will be released in full on May 2 across all major digital platforms. The next day, Virginia Bocelli will perform the song live at COMICON Naples 2025, accompanied by the Rainbow Dance Crew.
The reboot revisits the original storyline of Bloom and her friends, staying true to the values of friendship, courage, and adventure that defined the series, while introducing a modern animation style and updated themes. The show aims to reach both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers, offering a balance of nostalgia and innovation.
Since its debut in 2004, Winx Club has grown into one of the most successful Italian franchises, with eight animated seasons, three theatrical films, four TV specials, and two live-action seasons produced with Netflix (Fate: The Winx Saga). The brand continues to thrive across digital platforms, with over 20 billion views on YouTube and more than 35 billion on TikTok.
Rainbow, founded in 1995 by Iginio Straffi, has become a leading player in global animation and live-action content. The group also includes Bardel Inc., an Emmy Award-winning Canadian animation studio, and Colorado Film, a major Italian live-action production company.
