Arrested Industries Teams Up with Helena Spring Films for Johannes Radebe's Inspiring Journey
Arrested Industries, the UK/US content development, financing, and production company led by Anthony Kimble, announces a new collaboration with Helena Spring Films, renowned producer of the award-winning Poppie Nongena and Oscar-nominated Yesterday.
Together, they have secured the rights to Jojo: Finally Home, the inspiring memoir and Sunday Times bestseller by champion dancer and Strictly Come Dancing professional Johannes Radebe. The project will enter development as an uplifting family feature film, with Anthony Kimble and Helena Spring as producers and Johannes (Jojo) Radebe serving as executive producer and choreographer.

Titled Finally Home (working title), the film closely mirrors Jojo's life as depicted in the book. It explores his journey from growing up in Zamdela, a South African township, as a young boy with a passion for dance (and Barbies, when others played football or rugby). Facing poverty and the loss of his father, Jojo overcame adversity in a prejudiced community. With unwavering support from his mother, sister, and a perceptive dance coach, he transformed into the international celebrity and beloved Strictly star he is today.

While Finally Home is not envisioned as a musical, it promises to be a joyous, humorous, and ultimately uplifting film, filled with heart, compelling music, delightful costumes, and impressive dance numbers. In the spirit of popular films like Strictly Ballroom, The Full Monty, Then We Danced, and Billy Elliot, the project aims to capture the essence of Johannes Radebe's remarkable journey and his infectious spirit.
