This event is one of the few festival's entirely dedicated to comedy in all its different colours and flavours. The festival was founded by Mario Monicelli and Ezio Greggio in 2001, in order to highlight a genre that is often forgotten in other film events.
Italian acting great Giancarlo Giannini (Love and Anarchy, Hannibal, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) was the head of the jury of 2023 edition held at the Grimaldi Forum from Monday 24th to Saturday 29th April.
Alongside the main event, a number of screenings and masterclasses from leading Italian, French and international icons have joned the festival such as: French actor Victor Belmondo, son of veteran Jean Paul Belmond, TV show Barbara D’Urso, Elena Barolo, Mario de la Ros (Casa de Papel), special guest the singer Claude who performed its hit “Ladada”.
